TRC issues urgent water restrictions for Highfields, Kleinton, Meringandan

Due to excess drain on the Highfields reservoirs, residents in the area are being told to stop any outdoor water use for the next few days.

Urgent water restrictions are in place for the Highfields, Kleinton and Meringandan areas with residents told to stop using water outdoors.

High water usage over the past few hot days has led to demand on the network outpacing supply.

Toowoomba Regional Council Deputy Mayor Rebecca Vonhoff urged residents to conserve water wherever possible.

“We need our residents in these areas to reduce their water use immediately,” she said.

“Please stop all forms of outdoor water use and conserve water any way you can.

“The demand on our network is exceeding our supply, which isn’t allowing our reservoirs to replenish the way they need to.”

Cr Vonhoff said residents would be updated if the situation changed.
