Tina Kathleen Hazard charged with murder of 24-year-old Thor Morgan has matter mentioned in Toowoomba Magistrates Court

A 36-year-old Goondiwindi woman charged with murder arising from the shooting death of Thor Morgan in Toowoomba has had her charges mentioned before Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Tina Kathleen Hazard has been remanded in custody since her arrest on the charge of murder in August 2022 and was not required to appear in court when her matters were mentioned on Monday.

Skuse Graham Lawyers managing partner Claire Graham, acting as town agent for Ms Hazard’s lawyers Hans Legal, told the court she had been instructed to seek an adjournment to September 11 when Ms Hazard’s co-accused Lachlan Mark Freund, 25, was to have his charges mentioned in the same court.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Julia Wheaton told the court all witness statements had been disclosed to the defence and further material was to be disclosed on Monday.

However, case particulars that remained outstanding would take another four to six weeks to be disclosed, she said.

Ms Hazard and Mr Freund have each been charged with murder arising from the death of 25-year-old Thor Morgan who was allegedly shot while driving on Ruthven St near Downlands College in the early hours of March 15, 2022.

Thor Morgan died of his injuries on May 16, 2022, after being shot as he drove on Ruthven St, Toowoomba on March 15, 2022.

Despite his wounds, Mr Morgan walked to his girlfriend’s home in nearby Harlaxton from where an ambulance was called and he was taken to Toowoomba Hospital.

With a bullet still lodged in his brain, Mr Morgan was transferred to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane where died on May 16, 2022.

Ms Hazard has not as yet been called upon to enter any pleas to the charges of murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Similarly, Mr Freund has not as yet been required to enter pleas to his charges which include murder, arson of a motor vehicle and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Magistrate Louise Shephard remanded Ms Hazard in custody and adjourned her matters for mention back in the same court on September 11 to link up with Mr Freund’s matters.
