Three in court after pursuit along Bridge Street

A man and two women were arrested at the close of a low-speed pursuit through Wilsonton and Newtown overnight.

The tragic truth about road deaths in Australia

Two women and a man found themselves before a magistrate on Saturday after a spike trap brought a swift end to a low-speed pursuit along Bridge Street.

Police allege Ella-May Star Baker, Xiandei Wharewera and Jamara Warren Henningsen were sighted in a car park on Erin Street in Wilsonton about 9.30pm on Good Friday.

The trio is alleged to have been inside a Honda Accord that was stolen from a Bundamba home on April 6.

They fled at the sight of the police and were tracked along Bridge Street before officers deployed a spike trap near the 7-Eleven service station at the intersection with Hillview Street.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the stinger deployment was successful but the car continued on deflated tyres.

It eventually came to a stop in Campbell Street where the trio was arrested and held in police custody overnight.

Henningsen, 18, has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, evading police, disqualified driving and unlawful use of a vehicle.

The two women, Baker and Wharewera, face one charge each of unlawful use of a vehicle.
