Toowoomba police have charged a 27-year-old Texas man with a raft of serious offences after allegedly ramming police while in a stolen utility.

Mitchell Thomas Malcolm Skinner appeared in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Tuesday, facing 22 charges, some of which related to an incident on Monday afternoon.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police were patrolling in the East Toowoomba area about 4.30pm on Monday following an unrelated matter when they came across the 2017 Ford Ranger that had been stolen from a Mt Lofty address earlier in the day.

The officers pulled into the driveway of the Grenier Street home to make inquiries when the driver of the stolen vehicle attempted to flee, ramming the patrol car several times.

The driver then fled inside the house and a significant amount of police reinforcements were called in.

Police were able to enter the home and take two people into custody about 6pm.

Mr Skinner was later charged and held in custody overnight.

Duty lawyer Chelsea Saldumbide made no application for bail.

Mr Skinner was remanded in custody for a video sentence on June 27.
