Police investigating a traffic incident outside a Toowoomba childcare centre are urging a driver to come forward after a child was injured.
The incident took place about 3.30pm on February 7 outside a Newtown childcare centre on Gladstone St.
Initial investigations indicate that a child was leaving the centre when she wandered away from her parent and onto the road.
A vehicle driving past made contact with the child, resulting in a minor injury to her foot. The unknown vehicle has then left the scene.
The driver is described by police as a middle-aged man with grey hair and glasses, and was driving a sedan that was dark coloured, either black or midnight blue.
The driver may not be aware that his vehicle came in contact with the child or that the child received a minor injury.
Investigators are urging the driver or anyone else who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
