The video shows the man hiding from Mr Patel, but surprisingly a browsing customer standing nearby takes no notice.

Mr Patel said the man waited until he was busy with about six customers before darting into the office, grabbing the keys.

In a further insult, the man walks up to the counter and shows Mr Patel his seemingly empty pockets.

“I think he had the keys hidden somewhere,” he said.

“Luckily I keep the safe locked all the time.”
