A random drug and alcohol tester has been fined after being caught drink-driving in Highfields.

However, Justin Robert Charles Clee will still be able to drive his “booze bus” to the testing sites after Magistrate Graham Lee granted him a restricted work licence.

Clee was pulled over by police on Cawdor Drive, Highfields, on July 26, police prosecutor Sergeant Al Windsor told Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

After testing positive for alcohol in a roadside breath test, the 42-year-old was taken for a breath analysis and blew a breath/alcohol reading of 0.119, he said.

The self-represented Clee pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while over the middle alcohol limit but not over the high alcohol limit.

Mr Lee told him the disqualification period would be longer than normal because he was granting Clee a restricted work licence allowing him to drive 24 hours a day, seven days a week for his job.

Clee was fined $650 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver’s licence for seven months (work licence granted).
