A police officer is recovering after they were injured in the line of duty while attempting to stop a stolen vehicle from fleeing a Rangeville service station.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant John Cunningham said thieves stole a Nissan SUV from a South Toowoomba home about 10.30pm on Thursday.
It was then seen by police at the 7 Eleven service station at the intersection of Mackenzie and Perth Streets.
“Police attempted to intercept the vehicle while it was filling up with fuel and as a result a police officer was hit by the vehicle as it was leaving the service station,” Sgt Cunningham said.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
