Police investigate armed robbery at Toowoomba Thai restaurant

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after two men forced their way into a restaurant and threatened staff, demanding cash and electronics.

Toowoomba police have appealed for witnesses to come forward as they investigate a frightening armed robbery at the Toowoomba Thai restaurant.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the initial investigations indicate that at about 9.15pm on Saturday two men attended the Bridge Street business, smashed a door with an axe, and demanded cash from a male staff member.

“He complied, and the males left with a quantity of cash, an iPad and a staff member’s bag,” she said.

No one was physically injured.

The pair then left the scene in a vehicle.

The Investigations is ongoing and police appeal to anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
