Paramedics have transported a young woman to Toowoomba Hospital in a serious condition after she was pinned between two cars as a result of a crash in East Toowoomba.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the initial investigation indicated a motorist was travelling along Lindsay Street when they veered off the road and hit a pedestrian who was standing at the rear of a parked car at 10.44am Thursday.
The woman, aged in her late 20s, suffered critical leg injuries.
The impact had enough force behind it to move the parked car forward where it collided with a third vehicle.
Police closed the road while paramedics and firefighters worked to free the pedestrian.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the woman at the scene before transporting her to hospital.
Meanwhile the driver, a woman aged in her 50s, was treated for shock and transported to the Toowoomba Hospital as a precaution.
The Toowoomba Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the matter and anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage of the area near the intersection of Lindsay Street and Bridge Street should come forward.
