Police say they have found vehicle involved in possible hit-and-run near Oakey

Police investigating the death of a woman in a possible hit and run early on Saturday say they have found the vehicle involved and are talking to the driver.

Detectives investigating the death of a woman found dead on the side of the road near the Darling Downs town of Oakey say they have located the car believed to have been involved in the incident.

The 47-year-old’s body was found at 4AK Rd, not far from the intersection with Sussex Drive just before 8am.

Police have said they received information this morning from a member of the public and have subsequently found a vehicle believed to be involved.

The driver of the vehicle is helping police with their inquiries.

It’s believed the woman was “likely hit by a vehicle” in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A crime scene was established and investigations are continuing.

“Anyone with information relating to this matter or with dashcam footage from within that area and time-frame is urged to contact police.”
