NSW police apply for man’s extradition in Toowoomba court after stabbing death
A man who was arrested interstate after a father was allegedly stabbed to death in NSW after a late-night street brawl has fronted a Toowoomba court.

A 28-year-old NSW man arrested in Queensland after a young father was allegedly stabbed to death on a street in Mudgee has fronted Toowoomba Magistrates Court.
Less than 48 hours after the death of Samuel Allen, 22, Adam Condon fronted the regional courthouse via video link from the watch-house on Monday morning, May 19.
Mr Condon has not been charged with any crime.
Police were called to Mudgee Hospital about 11pm on Saturday, where Mr Allen died after being brought to the hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen.
NSW homicide detectives tabled a warrant application to extradite Mr Cordon to the Tweed Heads jurisdiction, to appear at Mudgee Local Court on Tuesday, May 20.
The order was granted, and the court was told the 28-year-old man is likely to be taken across the border sometime tomorrow morning.
The court was told given the nature of the incident, Mr Cordon could not oppose the extradition warrant.
Mr Cordon attended the Toowoomba Police Station about 3.20pm on Sunday.
A NSW Police spokesman said Cordon was arrested following the death of Mr Allen, however no charges had been laid.
“Police were called to Mudgee Hospital about 11pm (Saturday), when a 22-year-old man died there after being brought to the hospital suffering a stab wound to his abdomen,” he said.
“Officers… established crime scenes at the hospital and Gladstone Street, where it’s believed the man was stabbed during a fight with another person.”
He said Strike Force Dunedin was formed to investigate the fatal stabbing incident, which included detectives from Orana Mid-Western PD who were being assisted by the NSW Homicide Squad.
