A woman accused of setting fire to two Toowoomba residents’ homes in March had her serious charges mentioned before Toowoomba Magistrates Court.
The day after the suspicious blazes tore through the properties, police charged a 33-year-old, Enid Mary Serico, with two counts of entering a dwelling and two counts of arson.
She was also charged with serious animal cruelty as a dog was trapped and killed during one of the house fires at a Hume Street address.
The home was a shed that had been converted into a dwelling.
Hours before the North Toowoomba fire, a Hill Street unit in Newtown was gutted by fire.
Ms Serico’s charges were briefly mentioned before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Friday, May 30.
The court heard the prosecution had completed a brief of evidence, which was now with Ms Serico’s lawyers.
The former St George woman had other charges mentioned before the court, which were damaging police property, wilful damage, obstructing police, not following police directions, and a domestic violence charge.
Her charges will next be mentioned before the same court on July 16.
Serico remains in custody.
