76-year-old motorcyclist injured in a CBD crash has died

The 76-year-old motorcyclist critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in the CBD on Saturday has died.

UPDATE: A 76-year-old Wilsonton man injured in a two vehicle crash at Toowoomba on Saturday afternoon has died in hospital.

Preliminary information indicated around 4pm a blue 2010 Holden Cruze sedan was travelling west along James Street when a collision occurred with a black 2004 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle travelling east along James Street at the intersection of Hume Street.

He was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a critical condition where he died Sunday morning.

The driver of the sedan, a 26-year-old Withcott woman, and a six-year-old passenger were uninjured in the incident.

Any witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash or the moments leading up to it, are urged to contact police.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.

EARLIER: The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious traffic crash in Toowoomba City Saturday afternoon.

Preliminary information indicated that about 4pm a blue 2010 Holden Cruze sedan was travelling west on James Street when a collision occurred with a black 2004 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle travelling east on James Street at the intersection of Hume Street.

The rider, a 76-year-old Wilsonton man, sustained critical head injuries.

He was immediately provided first aid by the driver, a local woman in her twenties, who was not physically injured, ahead of the emergency response.

The remained in a critical condition in hospital.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
