A Toowoomba man allegedly at the centre of a police siege at a Newtown residence has had his case adjourned in the city’s Magistrates Court.
Forty-four-year-old Morgan Western Troy Mundey is accused of brandishing a revolver and threatening police before allegedly firing up to four rounds inside the home on Park St, Newtown, on December 21, 2022.
He has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to a string of charges which include dangerous conduct with a weapon, possessing a firearm, possessing explosives, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs and a drug utensil, receiving trained property and wilful damage arising from those alleged December 21 incidents.
He has similarly not been called upon to enter pleas to a series of unrelated charges.
Mr Mundey has been held in custody since his arrest after the alleged siege and was not required to be in court on Thursday when all of his charges were mentioned.
Solicitor Julia Molloy, of Skuse Graham Lawyers, told the court a submission on certain of the charges had been sent to police for consideration and asked for an adjournment while awaiting the response from police.
Magistrate Clare Kelly therefore remanded Mr Mundey in custody and adjourned all matters for mention back in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on June 29.
