A Toowoomba woman’s trial on a charge of manslaughter that had been scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court this week has been adjourned.
Kelly-Ann May Sinclair, 37, has been charged with manslaughter arising from the death of 28-year-old Blake Riley whose body was found in bushland at Preston on Toowoomba’s eastern outskirts in January 2021.
Ms Sinclair’s trial was due to start in Toowoomba Supreme Court on Monday but the case was mentioned before Justice Peter Applegarth on Friday last week and adjourned to the next sittings of the same court in Toowoomba in May.
Ms Sinclair has not as yet been required to enter any plea to the charge and no details of the case have as yet been aired in court.
Ms Sinclair, who was known to Mr Riley, remains on bail awaiting trial.
Cherry Creek man Benjimin Brett Waters, 37, has been charged with one count of misconduct with a corpse by interfering also related to the death of Mr Riley.
Mr Waters has not been required to enter any plea to that charge and remains on bail as his case proceeds through the Magistrates Court.
