Dog poo car attacker Leisa Frances Wise pleads guilty in Toowoomba court

The Toowoomba woman responsible for damaging a number of cars in an unusual and disturbing way has spoken out about why she did it. Here’s what she had to say.

A Toowoomba woman who poured a disgusting mixture of her dog’s faeces onto a parked car has pleaded guilty to the unusual crime.

Leisa Frances Wise also pleaded guilty to damaging another car, where she taped the window shut, deflated a tyre, and removed a wheel air valve.

The 55-year-old gained infamy when a TikTok video went viral, where she admitted to pouring the disgusting mixture of hot water and poo onto a car parked outside her Phillip St home.

The incident was caught on film when the owner of the car saw Wise pouring the mixture onto her car.

Police prosecutor Kinsley Weir said the poo incident occurred just days after the first car was damaged on December 16, 2022, and that an excess of $3795 in damages was caused.

However, police did not have detailed records to indicate how the damages amounted to an excess of $3000.

Senior Constable Weir said the hot poo liquid significantly damaged the electronics of the car, the bucket dented the body, and a professional cleaner was required.

Wise told the court she believed the women who owned the cars maliciously parked in front of her home to aggravate her.

“I am extremely regretful and remorseful that I let (the) provocation push me off the cliff of sanity and reason… by two spiteful women,” she said.

“I have no problem with anyone who parks in the space for three hours.”

Wise said it was well known she did not want people to park outside her home because her elderly mother had mobility issues and needed direct access – especially during medical emergencies.

She said that’s why she put a sign on her fence detailing those wishes.

“At any time we could need an ambulance which is a worry for me with an ageing parent… there is plenty of parking in Philip St,” she said.

Wise said Toowoomba Regional Council needed to better explain parking rules, stating regulations required people to park in a different zone once their three hours were up.

During court proceedings, Wise read a letter to the court detailing her remorse and mental health struggles which led to her lashing out and “taking the law into her own hands”.

“The spiteful and intentional full day parking in front of our house… was repeated daily,” she said.

“Over a period of 10 days my mental health and wellbeing completely crashed.

“I’m sorry I was not mentally well enough to handle the situation in a sane and mature manner.”

As a result of the viral video, Wise said she, her mother, and her dogs, had threats made against them, and her mother was too scared to leave the property.

In Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 9, Wise also pleaded guilty to contravening a police direction after she failed to provide a DNA sample, as well as breaching her bail conditions.

The breach occurred after officers told Wise she was not allowed within one metre of the cars parked outside and near her home, nor approach members of the public.

Wise inadvertently dobbed herself in because she complained to police about construction workers parking in the disputed area, who she approached and threatened.

Magistrate Claire Kelly said it was an odd bail condition, and was not imposed by the court, but stressed to Wise that her behaviour was unjustified.

“We all have to live within an urban community, there are lots of points of frustration that people can experience but at no stage is there any allowance for you to take action in this way,” she said.

The court was told Wise had a relevant prior conviction from 2018, where she scratched a parked car at Highfields, Toowoomba.

Wise was sentenced to a nine month probation order with a special condition that she seek help for her mental health.

Wise said she moved to Toowoomba two years ago to address her mental health, but struggled to find help as she did not qualify for any support programs.

Wise was also ordered to pay $1,050 in restitution damages.

No conviction was recorded.
