A 36-year-old Toowoomba mother charged with dumping the body of a man in bushland on the city’s outskirts has had that charge and other matters mentioned before the city’s Magistrates Court.
Kelly-Ann May Sinclair has been held in custody since her arrest on a charge of interfering with a corpse related to the discovery of 28-year-old Blake Riley’s body in bushland at Preston in January and was not required to be in court for the mention of her matters on Wednesday.
She has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to charges of interfering with a corpse and unrelated charges of trafficking in dangerous drugs, 39 counts of supplying dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs and related utensils.
Her solicitor Amber Acreman, of Skuse Graham lawyers, told the court another law firm initially had carriage of Sinclair’s original charges but she now had carriage of all charges.
Ms Acreman said she was still waiting for material from the prosecution and asked for a six week adjournment so the remainder of the police brief could be disclosed.
Acting Magistrate Roger Stark therefore remanded Sinclair in custody and adjourned the case for mention and committal mention back in the same court on August 25.
Sinclair’s appearance in court on that day will be excused.
