A night on the town has proved very expensive for a Toowoomba woman left with almost $3000 in fines and court costs.

Kelly Michelle Gillham, 39, had been handed an $800 ticket for causing a public nuisance inside a licensed premises of Fitzy’s late on November 21, last year, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.

She was then handed another $800 ticket for a similar charge inside the Cube Hotel that same night.

She had also obstructed police on Margaret St when she was arrested and then again obstructed police at the watch house to where she had been taken post arrest, police prosecutor Tahlia Boettcher told the court.

For each of those obstruct police offences she was handed another $400 ticket.

However, the tickets went unpaid and Gillham was summonsed to court.

She was not required to attend court on Thursday when her matters were mentioned but Magistrate Howard Osborne noted she had entered written pleas of guilty to all four offences.

Mr Osborne said he would impose fines in the same amount of the ticket penalty but would attach $108.60 costs of court on each offence.

For each public nuisance offence, Mr Osborne fined Gillham $800 and ordered she pay costs of court of $108.60 on each, and for each obstruct police charge she was fined $400 with $108.60 costs of court attached to each charge.

Gillham’s night out ultimately cost a total $2834.40.
