Jenna Kai Davern found with drugs, medications, weapons, drug utensils during police search

The mother of four had an array of drugs, medications and utensils in her bedroom found during a police search.

A Toowoomba mother of four found with various drugs, medications and drug utensils in her bedroom has been placed on probation to include random drug testing.

Davern Jenna Kai and three other adults were present when police conducted a search of her Glenvale home about 1.30pm, December, 21, 2023, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.

Police found in her bedroom 6.5g of cannabis in a clip seal bag, a small amount of meth, various medications for which she did not have prescriptions and drug utensils including three scales, a spoon, smoking pipe, three scoops, a tourniquet, syringe and needles and a trench knife, police prosecutor Nick Pratt told the court.

The 31-year-old Davern accepted ownership of all that was found in the police search, he said.

Mr Pratt said going by the 31-year-old’s criminal history it would appear she had an issue with illicit drug use.

Davern pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two of offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, and one each of possess utensils or pipes, fail to properly dispose of needle and syringe, possess anything for use in the commission of a crime defined in Part 2, and unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M.

Her solicitor Charmaine Malam told the court her client’s children were at the moment in the care of others and that her partner was in court supporting her.

Magistrate Clare Kelly noted there had been a significant gap since Davern was last before the court and placed her on nine months probation to include random testing for drugs.
