Elderly man assaulted during carjacking at BP Charlton
After allegedly stealing the LandCruiser from the 79-year-old man, the men took the car on a joyride for hundreds of kilometres from Dalby to Warwick.

Police thanked members of the public after they received multiple tip-offs about the location of a silver Land Cruiser that was stolen in a violent carjacking at Charlton on Wednesday afternoon.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the calls helped police arrest the driver and recover the vehicle at a location west of Dalby about 3pm on Thursday.
The vehicle was stolen about 5.30pm on Wednesday while it was parked at the BP service station on the Warrego Highway at Charlton.
Police reported that a 79-year-old man was approached by two males who pulled him from the vehicle.
He suffered lacerations and bleeding and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with head injuries.
Police attended and located a separate, abandoned vehicle at the business which has been seized for forensic examination.
The offenders fled in the man’s vehicle and where sighted at several locations through Thursday, including at Roma, Warwick, Dalby and Jondaryan.
