Dalby woman charged after spitting, throwing class at barman

A heavily intoxicated woman fired up at a barman, spitting in his face and throwing a glass at him before storming out in search of more grog.

A young woman woke up with a sore head and a court date after she abused a barman, spat in his face and threw a glass at him.

Dalby Sergeant Sean Donaghy said police were called to the Australian Hotel about 10.20pm on Wednesday after the 32-year-old woman became aggressive towards the barman.

“She spat on the ground near him and threw a glass at him, striking him on the left shoulder,” he said.

The barman asked the woman to leave but this further provoked her rage.

“She rained verbal abuse and spat in his face,” Sgt Donaghy said.

Police located the woman on Cunningham Street as she staggered toward another pub.

They arrested and held her in the watchouse overnight.

She will face the Dalby Magistrates Court on November 9 charged with two counts of common assault and one count each of wilful damage, public nuisance in the licence premises and failing to leave a licensed premises.

In unrelated matters Dalby police have charged at 40-year-old man with drugged driving after he returned a positive roadside drug test on Drayton Street at 8.20pm on Tuesday.
