Police have arrested four young offenders wanted over an alleged attempted burglary with violence less than an hour after the offence occurred.

Toowoomba Detective Senior Sergeant Paul McCusker said the quartet are alleged to have gone to a Collier Street home at 7.30pm on Saturday and threatened the homeowner.

“The male occupant of the house confronted the group and threats and demands were made for keys to a vehicle which were declined,” he said.

“The occupant swung an item at the offenders who left the location in a stolen vehicle.”

With the help of Polair, Toowoomba police tracked a Ford Escape to McGregor Street where they deployed a tyre deflation device and arrested three teenage boys and a 19-year-old man.

The Ford was stolen from a Rome Street address in Newtown between 11pm on Friday and 6am the following day, after entry was gained by the rear door.

The four alleged offenders have been charged with attempted burglary with violence.

One of them, a 15-year-old, is further charged with 30 offences, including 15 burglaries, 10 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and three counts of stealing.

They will face the Toowoomba Magistrates and Toowoomba Childrens Court on Monday.
