A 33-year-old Warwick man accused of shooting a man in the face over a few “casual drinks” at the victim’s home has had his case mentioned before the Toowoomba Supreme Court.

Benjamin James Nunns is accused of striking the other man over the head repeatedly with an object before shooting him in the face on April 5, 2020.

Police claim the two men and their partners were at the 38-year-old deceased man’s Glen Rd home in Warwick for a casual meeting when the two men got into an argument during the evening.

The man was found slumped over the steering wheel of a car in the driveway about 4am the next day.

Mr Nunns is also accused of breaking into another house some 300m from the alleged murder scene where he was found by Warwick police.

Mr Nunns has not as yet been called upon to enter any pleas to his charges which include murder, entering a dwelling to commit an indictable offence and disqualified driving.

During a brief mention of the case in Toowoomba Supreme Court on Friday, the court was told a defence barrister had been briefed in the case and that the trial was expected to take six or seven days.

Justice Susan Brown adjourned the case to the next call over of Supreme Court matters in Toowoomba later this year and remanded Mr Nunns in custody.
