A Toowoomba woman charged with attempted murder arising from an incident in which police claim she stabbed her partner in the chest has had her case mentioned again before Toowoomba Magistrates Court.
Shyahne Wendy Stevenson was not required to be in court for the mention of the matter and was represented by her lawyer.
The 22-year-old has not as yet been required to enter pleas to any of the charges which include attempted murder, administering poison with intent to harm, thereby endangering the life of, or doing grievous bodily harm to, the person, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, and contravening a probation order.
Police claim Stevenson stabbed her 37-year-old partner in the chest with a knife during an alleged incident at a Harristown address about 1am, January 15.
Police allege Stevenson fled the scene and that the complainant man was found by neighbours who called the Queensland Ambulance Service and he was transported to Toowoomba Hospital with a punctured lung.
At the time, Detective Acting Inspector Matt Howard of Toowoomba police said “without treatment, the male would have passed away”.
No details of the case have as yet been aired in court.
Stevenson was remanded in custody with the case adjourned to August 10 for a committal hearing with cross examination of several witnesses in Toowoomba Magistrates Court.
