THE wet weather has wreaked havoc on sport this weekend and not just across the Darling Downs region.
Toowoomba copped 18mm of rain overnight plus another 1.6mm from 9am on Sunday, causing many games and sporting activities to be cancelled.
Toowoomba teams travelling to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane were also impacted by the rainfall.
Little Athletics
Toowoomba Central Little Athletics Centre Competition scheduled for today has been cancelled.
The club made the decision this morning to call off the competition to preserve the grounds for upcoming events and competitions.
Softball
Toowoomba finished sixth after the first day of the Men's State Championships at Redlands on Saturday.
Toowoomba were scheduled to play Redlands Red last night but the game was postponed until this morning and later abandoned due to the rain.
The non-playing of the Toowoomba B v Redlands Red game has no impact on the standings.
Rugby league
Highfields and District Junior Rugby League has postponed its presentation day due to the wet weather.
A later date is being organised and will be advised shortly.
Golf
Keen golfers braved the weather for the third round of club championships at Toowoomba Golf Club.
The course is looking great after the downpour of rain and the final round of the Stroke Play Championships will go ahead today.
Despite the fog and light shower this morning, the course has held up well and carts are permitted.
Baseball
All Toowoomba Rangers away games have been cancelled this weekend.
They were scheduled to play Mudgeeraba and Coomera this weekend.
Games were postponed in an effort to still allow play, however with the rain continuing it was decided to call them off all together this morning.
Australian Rules
The Darling Downs girls team managed to play one game of the Queensland School's 10-12years state invitational carnival on the Sunshine Coast before it was washed out completely.
Torrential rain and lightning forced the remainder of the carnival to be called off.
The Darling Downs team played against Met North in their game where they won 22-7.
Lara Paget from the Chinchilla Suns was named best on ground.
