Wet takes sport toll; speedway wait and see

WEEKEND SPORT : Hi-Tec Oil Toowoomba Speedway officials yesterday remained hopeful of tonight’s scheduled Monster Madness Street Stocks Mountaineer Cup meeting going ahead as scheduled.

Race night organisers monitored yesterday’s murky weather conditions before announcing mid-afternoon racing is still on.

Further weather and meeting updates are available on the Toowoomba Speedway website.

Racing tonight includes the 2020 Queensland V8 Dirt Modified state championship.

The support card includes Street Stocks, Production Sedans, Wingless Sprints, Compact Speedcars, AMCA Nationals and RSA Sedans.

Racing is scheduled to start at 6pm.

# MEANWHILE all Toowoomba Regional Council sports fields remain closed until further notice due to persistent rain blanketing the region during the week.

A number of Toowoomba sport clubs and competitions have also cancelled training sessions and community events.

The Toowoomba Football League’s Super Sign-On Day due to take place today has been cancelled.

Interested players and parents should contact the clubs for registration information.
