Gold Coast

Gold Coast Knights’ Women’s team will travel to Townsville to take on MA Olympic this Sunday for a spot in the inaugural Kappa Queensland Cup final.

Coming off the back of clinching victory in the Kappa Pro Series Final just two weeks ago, the Knights will be looking to continue their excellent form as they set their sights on more silverware heading into this weekend’s Kappa Queensland Cup semi-final.

The Knights’ attacking depth and strong defence has been the key to their success this season,

currently sitting undefeated atop the FQPL 1 Women’s league.

Boasting a prolific goal threat, the Gold Coast side features two of the league’s top goal scorers, Laura Sevil and Eri Takamura, who have a combined 46 goals this season in the league.

MA Olympic’s defensive prowess is equally impressive though, having conceded only one goal from 14 matches in the FQPL Northern league in 2024.

Sunday’s Kappa Queensland Cup fixture promises to be an exciting clash as MA Olympic host the high-flying Gold Coast Knights at Olympic Park from 3:30pm.

Darling Downs

Highfields Green will host Willowburn White in this weekend’s round of FQPL 3 Darling Downs Women’s fixtures, in a match-up that could decide the league premiers.

Highfields Green enters this match atop of the table, extending their winning streak to five

games after an emphatic 4-0 win against Willowburn Black last weekend.

The victory was capped off with a brace from Brooke Baldwin, who is proving to be an attacking threat ahead of Saturday’s game.

In their most recent encounter, it was Highfields that came away with the convincing 3-0 victory over Willowburn White.

The ladder leaders will be looking to replicate that performance this weekend but must overcome a determined Willowburn side that requires a result in Saturday’s game to keep their premiership hopes alive.

After what’s been a gripping premiership race, it all comes down to this weekend’s match. Kick-off is scheduled for Saturday, 7pm, at Highfields Sport Recreation Park.
