As the Toowoomba Basketball League heats up, we reveal the underrated gems of the competition whose impact extends beyond the stat sheet.

From those who make hustle plays, to the players who make their teammates better, see who the underrated stars from each team are below.

Tobias Adams (Warriors)

Adams is an exciting young gun who has been one of the key players for the Warriors this season and is making a case for himself as a potential future star of Toowoomba Basketball.

Warriors coach Jason Krienke believed the majority of his side was underrated, as he focused on drafting young stars for this year’s competition.

“I think they are all a bit underrated,” Krienke said.

“Tobias Adams, he is only in grade 11 and is one of our best players.”

“Noah is coming into his own as being our point guard and being our leader,” Krienke said.

He is an exciting leader who is forming an exciting partnership with Patrick Roche as the Warriors continue their late-season finals push.

Patrick Roche (Warriors)

Despite being taken as one of the first picks in the draft, Krienke believes Roche’s impact is still underrated.

Roche is a leader on both ends of the floor and is a defensive anchor in the front court.

He has also shown he can take over a contest and when he heats up, he is a dangerous offensive weapon who brings himself and his teammates into the game.

“Tyler Saal is always hustling,” Milkos coach Jacob Zupp.

“He brings energy, he gets offensive boards, gets steals and deflections and is a really good player.”

Ash Peters (Milkos)

“Ash Peters is someone who plays with a lot of effort and with a lot of heart,” Zupp said.

“He gets after it and is a physical player.”

“He is one of the younger players,” Mustangs coach Jacob Davis said.

“He has a lot of potential and I think he has been thriving in our system.

“You won’t see him putting up crazy numbers but he just has an impact on the floor.”

Zac Collins (Mustangs)

Collins is the Robin to Sam Wall’s Batman.

The duo compliment each other perfectly on the court and with a superstar like Adam Gehrig in the ranks, the Mustangs have formed a lethal offence.

“Sam Wall brings the structure we need and Zac Collins has the creativity as an off-guard,” Davis said.

“He has a sense for the basket and really likes his one-on-one situations and tries to take advantage of that.”

Christ Kitapindu (Eels)

“Christ Kitapindu is definitely a big underrated one,” Eels coach Matt Cox said.

“I feel like I stole him in the draft really late and he slipped.

“He has been really solid as that guy who runs the floor really hard, makes really smart plays, rebounds well and can guard multiple positions.

“He can play the five or the wing a bit as well.”

Sean Lindsay-Holley (Eels)

“He shoots some wild shots sometimes but when he is on, he is on,” Cox said.

“We love getting him out in the lanes and spacing the floor for us.

“He is also pretty smart in the half court as well, he is another one of those energetic defenders.”
