Refreshed after a competition wide bye round to celebrate the NRL’s Magic Round, Toowoomba Rugby League’s top seniors hit the ground running in Round 7 at the weekend.

In the Hutchinson Builders A-grade Wattles, Valleys and Dalby all secured massive wins.

Warwick and Gatton also secured key wins to keep their unbeaten records intact.

In the Toowoomba Sports Club women’s competition Valleys and Oakey played out a thrilling 18-18 draw.

We’ve ranked the top 10 performances from the weekend and included a few honourable mentions in our list of 20-stars from Round 7.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Nicholas Van der Poel (Wattles A-grade), Isaac Leach (Wattles A-grade), Joel Tapie (Warwick A-grade), Brock Diment (Valleys A-grade), Marley Tunstead (Wattles Reserves), Jeffrey Ross (Warwick Reserves), Junior Chong-Nee (Valleys Reserves), Shaun Elara (Highfields U19s), Ronan Delaney (Souths U19s), Mia Davies (Gatton Women) and Tye Gray (Gatton A-grade) all scored doubles for their teams at the weekend. Oakey’s Sabina McLoughlin also deserves mention for her perfect three from three conversions in the Bears 18-18 draw with Valleys Roosters.

10. Zoe Cook (Valleys Women)

With Valleys Roosters and Oakey Bears scoring three tries apiece the ‘boots’ of each team ultimately decided the outcome of the game.

Roosters second rower Cook kicked two conversions and a penalty to earn her side a valuable point in the 18-18 draw.

9. Chris Woodbridge (Dalby A-grade)

The Diehards fullback extended his lead at the top of the try scorers list with another double at the weekend in his side’s 44-10 defeat of Highfields Eagles.

8. Lucy Davis (Highfields Women)

The Eagles centre picked up a double in her side’s 30-0 win over Dalby Diehards.

7. Caleb Murphy (Warwick A-grade)

The Cowboys halfback had his hand in everything again at the weekend.

Murphy, who is the competition’s leading points scorer, kicked five conversions and scored a try in his side’s 34-16 win over Goondiwindi.

6. Dwayne Duncan (Valleys A-grade)

Duncan had a big day out against Oakey Bears racking up 20 points.

The Roosters five-eighth scored a try and kicked eight conversions in his side’s 52-4 win.

5. Brendan Saltner (Valleys Reserves)

Coming off the bench Saltner made a big impact scoring two tries and kicking five conversions.

Valleys were comfortable winners thanks to Saltner’s efforts as the Roosters secured a 48-10 win over Oakey Bears.

4. Timothy Hentschel (Wattles Reserves)

The Warriors centre scored a hat-trick in his side’s 48-6 win over Newtown Lions.

3. Emmie Creevey (Oakey Women)

The Bears hooker did everything she could to secure a win for her side at the weekend.

Creevey scored two of her side’s three tries in Oakey’s 18-18 draw with Valleys Roosters.

2. Matthew Schultz (Brothers U19s)

The rampaging second rower scored a hat-trick in his side’s 26-10 win over Pittsworth Danes.

1. Matthew Drews (Dalby A-grade)

The Diehards centre produced a man of the match performance in his side’s 44-10 win over Highfields Eagles.

Drews scored four of his side’s nine tries in the convincing win.
