Bowling first, Northern Brothers was relentless from the outset, with Todd Hamlet leading the barrage, taking 4-33 from nine overs before Highfields were bowled out for 104 runs.
The Bulldogs showed some fight in their defence with a couple of early wickets to make it 2-44 giving them a glimmer of hope.
However, the Dragons were ultimately far too strong and cruised to victory with more than 23 overs to spare.
3. Todd Hamlet (Northern Brothers): 4-33 from nine overs.
2. Charlie Bignell (Northern Brothers): 30 runs from 33 balls and 1-6 from three overs.
1. Jake Tarling (Highfields): 2-35 and 12 runs.
Southern Districts 4-160 vs University 10-154
Southern Districts bounced back from an agonising defeat in round 1 to claim a comfortable victory over University.
After a strong start with the ball from the Magpies, Cooper Webster and Alex Taylor showed some fight to steady the ship but neither player could go on to make a big game-changing score as the Souths bowling attack continued to dominate.
Gurnoor Singh Randhawa and Matt Budden spearheaded the attack, taking three scalps each as Uni was bowled out for 154 runs.
After Souths lost 3-8 in less than three overs to make it 3-60 following their strong start to the run-chase, Uni looked like it was in with a strong chance of claiming an unlikely win.
However, captain Rohan Drummond and Baxter Tzannes were unfazed at the crease and combined for a 90-run fourth-wicket partnership to help seal the win.
3. Gurnoor Singh Randhawa (Souths): 3-20 from nine overs and 30 runs from 41 balls.
2. Cooper Webster (Uni): 38 runs from 56 balls and 2-44.

Western Districts 8-186 vs Met-Easts 10-178
The one-day reigning premiers (Met-Easts) and two-day reigning premiers (Wests) faced off in a battle of the two Toowoomba cricket juggernauts in a clash which lived up to the hype.
Wests batted first and the clash was evenly poised early when Matthew Nunn fell to make it 3-67.
However, Matthew Hallas stood tall for the Warriors to steer the middle order as he scored a crucial 69 runs from 65 balls.
Jackson Haynes was the pick of the bowlers for the Trojans as he took 3-35 from six overs as Wests fought to 8-186 at the end of the 45 overs.
The Trojans’ run-chase could not have started much worse as Liam Brown was bowled for a duck on just the second ball of the inning.
Ryan Ward and Marcus Frizzell tore through the batting line-up and before long, Met-Easts were under immense pressure at 4-59.
Some patient batting from Dean Fry and Fraser Judd gave the Trojans a chance with the former scoring 56 runs from 105 balls.
However, the wickets continued to fall and despite the brave efforts from the Met-Easts’ tail, they were bowled out for 178 with seven balls to spare – falling just eight runs shy of Wests’ total.

The Northern Brothers bowling attack was out in full force as it gave Highfields absolutely nothing on the way to claiming all 10 wickets for just 100 runs.
Luke Guymer and Sam Magee-Doogan were the leading bowlers for the Dragons as they claimed three wickets each.
In response Jordan Wikaire and Patrick Sullivan helped guide Northern Brothers to a comfortable seven-wicket win.
3. Luke Guymer (Northern Brothers): 3-9 from six overs and 11 not out.
2. Sam Magee-Doogan (Northern Brothers): 3-20 from eight overs.
1. Jordan Wikaire (Northern Brothers): 31 runs.
Southern Districts 8-167 vs University 10-165
In one of the early clashes of the season, Souths claimed a dramatic two-wicket win over University on the final ball of the game.
Momentum went back and forth throughout the University batting innings in an entertaining battle between bat and ball before they were eventually bowled out for 165 in the 34th over.
Matthew Dunn, Adrian Mayers and Harold Shelton all made key contributions with the bat, while Anthony Bowles was the pick of the bowlers for Souths.
At 1-54 and then 3-141, the Magpies were in strong positions to make the 166 runs needed for victory.
However, a stunning five-wicket collapse for just eight runs, including a 4-0 spell between the 37 and 39 overs set up a nailbiting finale.
With the pressure at its peak, Nuwan Athukorala and Lachlan Campbell held their nerve to combine for a matchwinning 18-run partnership, with the former hitting three runs off the final ball to get his side over the line.
3. Harold Shelton (Uni): 5-23 from seven overs and 20 runs from 25 balls.
2. Christopher Smythe (Souths): 60 runs from 91 balls
1. Anthony Bowles (Souths): 4-24 from seven overs.
Western Districts 7-141 vs Met-Easts 10-87
Bowlers dominated in the clash between the Warriors and the Trojans, with 17 wickets falling for just 228 runs.
Warriors batted first and were in all kinds of trouble at 3-21 and then 5-60.
However, strong efforts in the middle-lower order from Sam Titterton, Lachlan Ottobrino and Will Titterton guided Western Districts to a defendable 7-141 at the end of the 40 overs.
With the ball, Wests barely put a foot wrong as they allowed only two Met-Easts batters to reach double figures.
Chris Stearn (31) and Craig Skuse (17) were the only Trojans able to fight back against the Warriors as Jake Gill led the way with four wickets, while Sam Titterton, Will Titterton, Cameron Dennis and Lachie Milton all chipped in to bowl Met-Easts out for 87.
3. Jake Gill (Wests): 4-28 off six overs.

In response Kaiden Philp led the way for Northern Brothers with 48 runs from 61 balls to help his side to a four-wicket win.

The Magpies started the stronger of the two sides with Michael Holzl and Scott Sowerby combining for a 70-run opening stand.
However, once the Ravens bowlers claimed the breakthrough wicket, it went all downhill from there, with 10 wickets falling for just 77 runs.
Harry Winterbottom was the star for the Ravens with the ball as he took 4-25.
In response, Chris Leonard and Mohit Kalra were strong with the bat and were the backbone of the successful rune chase before a late 22-run cameo off five balls from Navjot Singh sealed the win.
3. Harry Winterbottom (Ravens): 4-25 from eight overs.
2. Mohit Kalra (Ravens): 44 runs from 51 balls.
1. Chris Leonard (Ravens): 39 not out from 82 balls.
Met-Easts Gold 9-331 vs Highfields 10-64
Highfields were immediately left to regret their decision to bowl first as Met-Easts opener Hugh Mansfield scored a swashbuckling 106 off 74 balls.
It did not get much better from there for the Bulldogs as three players also reached half centuries in a dominant batting display which saw the Trojans score 331 from their 40 overs.
Met-Easts’ ascendancy continued with the ball as they bowled Highfields inside 20 overs for just 64 runs.
3. Hugh Mansfield (Met-Easts): 106 runs from 74 balls.

The Warriors were ultimately too good for Northern Brothers as they chased down the 157 runs needed for victory with six wickets and 11 balls in hand.
Wayne Hamlet and Chryshanthan Jeevaretnam provided a strong combination in the Diggers’ batting order but could not score at a rapid pace with the former striking at 45.05 and the latter 74.5.
For Wests, openers Matthew Jurgs and Conor Ward saw off the new ball and combined for a handy 61-run opening stand as the Warriors always held the upper hand on their way to 4-158.
3. Matthew Jurgs (Wests): 44 runs from 64 balls.
2. Wayne Hamlet (Northern Brothers): 41 runs from 91 balls.
1. Conor Ward (Wests): 31 runs from 102 balls.
C-grade
Western Districts Downlands 4-93 vs Met-Easts Red 10-90
The Warriors claimed a resounding win over Met-Easts in their first game of the season.
Wests bowled first and with the Trojans making it to 2-60, the game was still very much in the balance.
However, a stunning eight-wicket collapse for 30 runs flipped the game on its head.
With the Warriors then needing just 91 runs to win, they found themselves in early trouble at 4-45 before a powerful knock from Darcy Kelly thwarted any hopes of a Trojans miracle.
3. Darcy Kelly (Wests): 39 not out from 17 balls
2. Mikael Artavilla-Bennett (Wests): 24 runs from 32 balls and 1-18 from three overs.

Uni Phoenix 9-170 vs Souths Ravens 8-228
A dominant batting performance from Matthew Gurr helped set the tone for the Ravens on their way to a 58-run win over Uni.
Batting first, the clash was in the balance when Gurr made his way out to the middle with his side at 2-51.
However, his presence quickly shifted the momentum in his side’s favour as he scored a superb 84 runs from 77 balls.
With 229 runs needed for victory, it was always going to be a tough task for the Phoenix to try and match the efforts of the Ravens.
However, opener Andrew Catlow gave it his absolute all as he carried his bat through the entire innings, scoring an unbeaten 95 runs from 91 balls before his side was bowled out for 170.
At 4-131 with just over 11 overs to go, Uni was still in with a shot if Catlow remained at the crease.
However, the efforts of John Kaarsberg and Harvinder Khalsa with the ball were too much as they tore through the middle order and tail to leave Catlow stranded on 95.
3. Andrew Catlow (Uni): 95 not out from 91 balls.
2. Matthew Gurr (Souths): 84 runs from 77 balls.
1. Harvinder Khalsa (Souths): 4-31 from 4.3 overs.

The Currawongs started strongly with the bat with Brenton Rouhan leading the way with his unbeaten 85 runs from 102 balls.
However, his teammates were no match for the Magpies bowling attack, with Tim Brett and Aariz Imam combining for seven wickets as the Currawongs ended the inning on 9-198.

3. Jack Leavy (Magpies): 78 runs from 48 balls.
2. Brenton Rouhan (Currawongs): 85 not out from 102 balls.
1. Tim Brett (Magpies): 4-21 from five overs.
Highfields 9-184 vs Northern Brothers Diggers 2-185
The Bulldogs showed plenty of positive signs batting first with several batters making starts but they will be left to rue what could have been as seven players scored 13 or more runs but none could make it past 36 as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Jesse Noonan (36) and Archie Noonan (24) were the picks of the batters for Highfields, while Noah Spies was the best of the Diggers bowlers, taking 4-33.
While 184 was very much a defendable total, it did not take long before Northern Brothers were in full control as Rob Fenwick and Anthony Guse combined for a 135-run opening stand.
After Guse was dismissed for 67, Fenwick continued to put the foot down as he made his way to an unbeaten 91 off just 59 balls when his side surpassed Highfields’ total with 122 balls to spare.

However, his efforts were ultimately not enough as the Magpies fell just short of victory.
3. Daniel Pollock (Met-Easts): 72 runs from 95 balls and 3-52 from nine overs.
2. Dean Fry (Met-Easts): 60 runs from 88 balls.
1. Rahul Suresh (Souths): 1-49 from nine overs and 43 runs from 52 balls.

The Western Districts juggernaut sent out an early statement with a resounding 88-run victory over Northern Brothers Diggers.

However, one of the all-time Toowoomba cricket greats stepped up for Western Districts and turned the contest on its head.
Brian May was at his elegant best with the bat as he scored an unbeaten 98 runs from 107 balls.
He could very easily have added another ton to his resume but was unable to get back on strike for the final 10 balls of the innings.
The Dragons’ chase got off to the worst possible start as Aaron Convery was dismissed off the very first ball and it did not get much better from there as wickets continued to fall before they were bowled out for 121.

After a promising 44-run opening stand in response, the University bowlers got to work but Highfields continued to show some fight to make it to 4-90.

2. Nayte Baker (West Warriors): 78 not out of 115 balls, 11 fours.

Diggers Blue 7-317 vs Highfields Bulldogs 10-56.
Diggers were an unstoppable force – torching the Bulldogs bowling attack at Captain Cook Reserve.
Bulldogs looked to be in control early with Diggers reeling early at 1-17 after the loss of Anthony Guse for a duck and when Rob Fenwick was bowled for 23 they were in more trouble at 2-39.
David Kenway came to Diggers rescue though scoring a blistering 118 off just 67 balls which included 8 fours and 11 sixes.
Batting at No. 7 Kaiden Philp also did some damage scoring 63 off 55 balls.

University 10-188 vs Met-Easts Gold 3-317
With Dominic Seaby heading back to the sheds and just 18 runs on the board – Uni’s decision to bowl appeared to be the right move at the weekend.
Mets’ Hugo Cavanagh and Lachlan Muggleton however had other ideas with the pair combining for a massive 245-run second wicket partnership.
With 147.41 strike rate, Cavanagh hit Uni to all ends of the ground on his way to a massive 171 off just 116 balls (22 fours and 4 sixes) while Muggleton produced 100 off 100.
Uni fought hard with the bat but after falling to 2-12 and 3-45 early they were never realistically going to be able to chase down the mammoth Mets total.

3. Harvinder Khalsa (Souths Ravens): 48 off 28 balls, 5 fours and 3 sixes.
