FOOTBALL: Willowburn coach Nick Rundle summed up his side's clash against USQ FC simply at the weekend - "goals change games".
Unfortunately for Rundle and his team - it was a lack of goals that proved costly in their 2-0 defeat.
"We matched them minute for minute," Rundle said.
"I thought we had the better of the first half and could've been two or three goals clear - but we weren't.
"They get a penalty just before halftime, convert it and we're left to chase the game in the second half while they can sit back and defend.
"We had plenty of chances but we didn't convert - that's just football though."
Both Willowburn's losses this season have been to USQ but Rundle is not about to make any drastic changes.
"We had plenty of chances one on one with the keeper but didn't convert," he said.
"Goals change games.
"I thought we played with a lot more intensity in this game compared to our first game of the season against them.
"And generally we've improved a lot across the park - there's still a long way to go in the season."
In other matches, Gatton's 2-0 over Rockville saw them leapfrog Willowburn to claim second place on the Premier Men's ladder and Warwick secured their first win of the season.
