Jack Della Maddalena outclassed by Islam Makhachev in UFC 322 title fight

Aussie champ Jack Della Maddalena has been torn to shreds in one of the most brutal title fights the UFC has seen in recent years.

Aussie star Jack Della Maddelana has been completely outclassed by UFC legend Islam Makhachev in their UFC 322 title fight in New York on Sunday.

It was supposed to be a case of the Perth product getting revenge for his country after Makhachev also toppled Aussie icon Alexander Volkanovski.

However, Sunday’s welterweight title fight at Madison Square Garden was a brutally one-sided contest with Maddalena struggling to land any serious shots.

Sunday’s blockbuster UFC 322 card has been nothing short of madness with five stars knocked out in the preliminary fights.

The blockbuster card ended on a sour note with Maddalena looking like a lamb to the slaughter against Makhachev, who put on a grappling clinic.

Maddalena was so out of his depth UFC dual-weight champ Daniel Cormier said it appeared the Australian was carrying an undisclosed leg injury.

Joe Rogan said in commentary: “Look at that right calf. That looks destroyed. That calf looks in absolute agony”.

Cormier called it a “pure domination”.
