Top 20: The best performers from A, Reserve, B, C & D grade cricket grand-finals

Five teams have been crowned premiership winners after a thrilling weekend Toowoomba grade cricket grand finals. We take a look at each side and their top performers below.

CRICKET: After a thrilling weekend of grade cricket grand finals that saw the ball getting the better of the bat, we rank the top 20 performance’s across TCI’s A, Reserve, B, C and D grade two and one day cricket grand finals.

A-grade — Easts def. Wests by 35 runs

Met-Easts

Dan Pollock (c): Leading from the front, again showing why he wears the captains armband, Pollock scored 64 runs off 74 deliveries with eight fours and two sixes. He also took 3-16 with the ball from eight overs, bowling two maidens in the process.

Peter van Der Kooij: Spending an age at the crease, Kooji scored 39 off 102 balls, with just one four in the process.

Wests Districts

Chaz Cheatley: With an incredible 5-10 in the first innings, Cheatley was on fire. His stats read: 5-10 from 9.5 overs with five maidens in the first and 2-42 from 12 overs and two maidens in the second.

Matt Hallas: Scoring just 39 runs from a whooping 102 delivers, Hallas scored one boundary and no maximums.

Reserve-grade — Easts def. Souths by 107 runs

Met-Easts

Ross Milton (c): Showing immense mental fortitude, Milton scored 43 from 181 deliveries, hitting only three boundaries.

Kahlem Reardon: With an incredible stat line, Reardon took 3-2 from seven overs, six of which being maidens.

Christio van Vuuren: Hitting 44 runs off 70, van Vuuren hit three fours, contributing greatly to Easts eventual victory.

Souths Magpies

Brendan Barnett: Taking 3-18, Barnett bowled seven overs with one maiden.

B-grade — Highfields def. Easts by 5 wickets

Highfields - Railways

JP O’Kennedy: Putting on an absolute clinic with the ball, O’Kennedy took 6-10 from 15 overs. Adding to his incredible spell, eight of those overs were maidens.

Brendan Galvin: Notching up a perfect half-century from 106 balls in the first innings, Galvin added to his total for the match scoring 40 runs from 55 deliveries in the second innings.

Met-Easts

Adam Kerrigan: Retaining his crown as the regions top all-rounder this season, with the ball, Kerrigan took 6-27 from 16 overs, bowling five maidens.With the bat, he scored 25 in the first and 45 runs in the second.

Ben Jeffery (c): With figures of 4-29 from 14.2 overs in the first innings, Jefferry took a further 3-33 from 10.4 in the second.

C-grade — Diggers def. Uni

Northern Diggers

Anthony Guse: Making a handy 48 from 90 deliveries, the opener smashed six fours and one maximum in his time at the crease.

Wayne Hamlet (c): Also scoring 48 runs, Hamlet got there in 66 deliveries, scoring seven fours along the way.

University

Robert Phillips: Ever the prolific wicket-taker, Phillips continued his regular season form in the final. Taking 4-46 from 20.1 in the first he added to his tally with 3-37 from 16.4 in the second inning.

Joel Ridley: Helping out Phillips with the ball in hand, Ridley took 5-27 from his 14 overs, bowling five maidens.

D-grade — Highfields def. Souths by 1 wicket

Highfields - Railways

Bradley Siddans (c): Spearheading his side’s bowling attack, Siddans snared 5-15 from his seven overs, bowling two maidens.

John Schwartz: Helping out his captain and skittling Souths, Schwartz snagged 4-27 off his 7.1 overs.

Souths Magpies

Stephen Follett: Doing his best for his side, Follett took a very respectable 4-23 from just five overs.

Harvinder Khalsa (c): In an attempt to drag his side to victory, the captain scored 34 runs from 2 deliveries as well as taking 3-29 from his eight overs.
