Toowoomba and Darling Downs rugby league fans could be among the first to see new Broncos recruit Ben Hunt in action.
The Queensland Origin and Australian star will finish his career with the Broncos after agreeing to a two-year deal with the club.
Late last week, the National Rugby League announced the host locations for its annual Pre-Season Challenge.
Toowoomba’s Clive Berghofer Stadium will play host to the Broncos and Gold Coast Titans on Sunday February 16.
Other matches will be played in Mudgee and The Central Coast (NSW), Cairns and Cranbourne East (Victoria) as well as Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland.
Often described as the capital of Queensland rugby league’s heartland, the Toowoomba match is sure to draw a massive crowd.
A record crowd of more than 5000 people packed Clive Berghofer Stadium for the Queensland Maroons fan day in June this year.
Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans said the buzz throughout the town was felt by the players long before they ran out onto the ground.
“To have the whole field two and three deep with Queensland people, it’s amazing, it makes us feel very special and we’re really grateful to be standing here as Queensland players.”
