SPEEDWAY : This Saturday is more than just another race night at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway for Rodney Pammenter and his colleagues.
Toowoomba Speedway this week showcases one of its biggest and most important annual racing events when it hosts its Ultimate Pink Night.
The fundraising night supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation while helping to also raise awareness of breast cancer.
General admission on Pink Night is free for all women with a gold coin donation.
Racing includes USC Sprintcars, Modified Sedans, Compact Speedcars, Amcas, Formula 500s and Wingless Sprints with racing from 6pm.
Pammenter has supported his hometown Pink Night since its inception and believes it is one of the nation’s leaders in its support of breast cancer.
His car on Saturday night will be one of several carrying special pink livery in support of the night.
“Toowoomba and the promoters seems to be really good at this night and I think it’s probably one of the Pink Night leaders in Australia,” Pammenter said.
“It’s really grown over the last four or five years with the public, businesses and sponsors getting behind it so well.
“It’s an important night as well for the drivers and teams.
“Nearly all of us have been touched by breast cancer at some stage and everyone is keen to get behind the fundraising.
“Drivers are coming from Mackay to Roma, to Grafton for a great night’s racing which I’m sure fans will enjoy.”
