For the third consecutive year the school has claimed the Lorette Wigan Cup for champion secondary school.

It’s the culmination of a fortnight of strong performances at the Toowoomba Showgrounds in dressage, show horse, jumping, CT and eventing categories.

“I’m really proud of all the girls and their efforts,” captain Kate Johnstone said.

“We had a lot of places. The whole team did really well.

“We have a really good team. All the girls are very dedicated to the training which makes it so much better.

“All the parents, committee and co-ordinators all work together and it makes things so much better when we have a support network behind us.”

Glennie Equestrian Supporters team vice president Warren Willmington said the squad did well to overcome adversity and perform at a high level.

“The girls did very well. We’ve had a fantastic weekend over the last two weeks, and three in a row is very special for the girls,” he said.

“We’ve got a cracking, energetic team this year with great parents and a great committee.

“We couldn’t ask for a nicer bunch of girls to send to the state to represent Glennie.

“This year was a little bit different with the COVID world.

“We had to work around that.

“Things like training with the horses and for the girls.”

Keeleigh Wise, Lucy Stanford, Charlotte Drynan and Becci Roellgen took out the Champion Secondary Show Horse team.

Captain Johnstone linked with fellow teammates Becci Roellgen, Piper Wise and Keeleigh Wise to take out the Champion Secondary Dressage team.

Glennie school members also finished third in showjumping, combined training and eventing to round out a successful campaign.
