UPDATE: Tomorrow's Hooper Accountants Toowoomba International men's final will be a battle of the Australians after Jacob Grills and Dayne Kelly advanced with comfortable semi-final wins at Toowoomba Regional Tennis Centre - USQ today.
Sixth seed Grills was first into tomorrow's decider after he downed defending Toowoomba champion Maverick Banes 6-2, 6-3 this morning.
He'll now face last week's Brisbane QTC International winner Dayne Kelly after the Australian scored a 6-2, 7-5 semi win over Frenchman Alexis Musialek.
Tomorrow's women's final will see Australian and tournament top seed Maddison Inglis up against unseeded Japanese contender Kyoka Okamura.
Inglis continued her hot Toowoomba run following her Brisbane victory last week to down Japan's Arakawa Haruma 6-1, 6-2 in today's semi-final.
Okamura ended the good tournament run of Victoria's Olivia Rogowska with a 6-4, 6-4 semi victory.
Tomorrow's finals begin at 10.30am.
Spectator entry is free.
EARLIER: Cool, stormy conditions today made for a testing afternoon of quarter-final play at the 2019 Hooper Accountants Toowoomba International but only after two of the leading women won their way through to tomorrow's semi-finals at Toowoomba Regional Tennis Centre - USQ.
Tournament top seed Maddison Inglis marched through her morning match with a 7-5, 6-1 win over another Australian Alison Bai.
Her victory sets up a potential match-up in Sunday's final with Victoria's Olivier Rogowska (3) who scored a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 quarter victory over Thai Nudnida Luangnam.
Two men's semi-finalist were decided before the unsettled weather arrived with Australians Jacob Grills and 2019 Brisbane QTC International winner Dayne Kelly both progressing after their opponents withdrew mid match.
Second seed Harry Bourchier withdrew with illness when down 6-3, 2-0 against Grills while Canada's Martin Beran retired injured down 6-3, 3-0 to Kelly.
Today's two remaining men's and women's semi-finalists were still to be decided late yesterday under stormy skies.
Tournament director Emma Creighton said a quality weekend of finals was assured.
"The women's draw carries plenty of interest with several highly rated Australians still in contention and the men's title is wide open with a number of Australians and internationals vying for the title," Creighton said.
Play is set to resume tomorrow at 10.30am with Sunday's finals also beginning at 10.30.
Other weekend activities at the tennis centre include:-
# South Western Indigenous Network junior on-court demonstration tomorrow from 10am.
# South West regional finals tomorrow from 10am-3pm.
# Junior Development Series (JDS) coaching session on Sunday for 16 players from the South chosen to go to Rockhampton for the JDS state finals.
