RACING: The Matt Kropp stable will be hoping for a third celebration this week when Rosie Posie chases a country feature victory tomorrow at Allman Park.

Rosie Posie looks set to line up as one of the fancied runners in the 2019 Warwick Credit Union Warwick Cup (1500m) with Gary Geran to ride.

Kropp last Sunday was recognised by Toowoomba Turf Club as its premiership Trainer of the Year for the 2018-19 season with his name added to the club’s honour board of past winners.

“It’s pleasing to win as many races as we did for the season,” Kropp said yesterday.

“We were happy with our results from a good team effort.”

Kropp’s mare Rosendahl Red was also named Toowoomba Horse of the Year for her Clifford Park performances during the season including her Toowoomba Guineas victory on Weetwood day.

Rosie Posie has her first look tomorrow at Allman Park but chases a cup win on the back of good recent form including a solid-finishing fifth last start in a 1200-metre Fillies and Mares Benchmark 85 at Eagle Farm.

“It’s a good cup,” Kropp said.

“There’s plenty of depth to the race and the Newmarket (Benchmark 70) has drawn a good field as well.

“Rosie’s never raced at Warwick but the good thing about the track is they have a good run in.

“So hopefully there is a bit of pace in the race and from one alley she will have the chance to get home well.

“Her last run in town was good.

“She just loves galloping.

“She galloped enormous on Tuesday and some times she leaves you wondering whether she’s left her best on the track.

“We’ve got a few going out on Saturday and a few going to Gayndah as well so hopefully we can have a bit of luck.”

# CUNNAMULLA & District Diggers’ Race Club also hosts its annual cup meeting on Saturday with a six-race card starting at 1pm.
