FOOTBALL: Matches between Willowburn and West Wanderers are always passionate.

The traditional rivals give no quarter when they square-off, and tomorrow's clash may have a little extra spice in it.

Mark Robinson moved across town in the off-season, taking the reins of new Toowoomba Football League premier men's team Willowburn White.

"I have plenty of fond memories from my time at the club,” Robinson said.

"I won a few premierships, made some great mates and played in some great teams.

"You look forward to these type of matches though - taking your new team to your old club and trying to get a win.

"It won't be easy for us. They're a good side with a good coach, and they'll want it just as much as us.”

Robinson's side is coming off a heavy 6-2 loss to team-mates Willowburn FC, but the coach is confident they can bounce back.

"They (WFC) are a very experienced side and that was very telling in our match,” Robinson said.

"We made some basic errors and they were punished.

"It was a training run for either team, it was very competitive, and we take a lot away from it.

"We know where we need to improve and we'll work on that.

"It doesn't change our plans for the season though - we'll go forward with the same goals and belief.”

At home to Wanderers today, Robinson said the plan was simple.

"Firstly we need to eliminate the basic errors from our game,” he said.

"We need to do that, play to our structure our strength and work as a team.”
