Here are the 49 grassroot cricketers who put on a show for the summer 2022/23 season.

Competition: A-grade

Performance: 8/21: In Townsville’s A-grade semi-final, Brothers danger man Justin Rawlins took eight first innings wickets in 19 overs as his team powered past the heavily fancied Western Suburbs Magpies. With his team already in a strong position, Rawlins took three more wickets in the second innings.

Heath O’Brien

Club: Brothers Cricket Club Townsville

Competition: B-grade

Performance: 149 not out: B-grade’s leading runscorer Heath O’Brien batted in 446 runs this season but the big man saved his best for last, smashing an unbeaten 149 not out off 114 balls in his team’s final game of the season.

Performance: 101 not out in final round, team bowled out for 156, carried his bat through the whole innings.

Performance: 3/24 from 6.5, including hat trick - took the last three wickets of the game to hand his side their first win.

Performance: Division 1’s top wicket-taker Harry Lickiss took 49 across the season, including 47 maidens, at a rate of 12.9. His season best performance of 6-15 is evidence of why the Hawks went on to win the two-day grand final, where he scored 4-35.

Performance: A young gun on the rise who scored a match-winning 99 not out off 121 balls in the Division 1 (under-16) grand final against Norths Callide Dawson.

Chad played reserve grade, finishing with 153 runs from six matches, average 35.52, and in third grade notching up 242 runs from six matches for an average of 60.25.

He also got his first taste of A-grade cricket this season - definitely one to watch.
