BASEBALL: Toowoomba Rangers are keen to make an early season statement when they travel to Narangba tomorrow to take on the Demons in their round four GBL Division 4 game.

Rangers are coming off a bye and sit just outside the top four.

Narangba is yet to win a game but Rangers’ coach Luke Ardill said while Toowoomba will not be taking the Demons lightly they are keen to try and dominate their rivals.

“We have a point to prove and we’d like to try and make it on Sunday,” Ardill said yesterday.

“We haven’t started the season strongly and we’d like to rectify that.

“Our training has been good and we are starting to swing the bat better so we need to carry that into Sunday’s game.

“We want to start showing the rest of the competition our strengths and what Rangers are about.

“It’s important we hold a top-four spot, but looking ahead, come Christmas time we’d like to be sitting number one on the ladder.”
