RUGBY LEAGUE: Toowoomba’s Shenae Ciesiolka has secured her roster spot for the upcoming NRLW season.

The winger was announced as one of a number of premiership players to return to the fold in 2021.

Ciesiolka made her senior league debut with Brisbane last year after making the switch from rugby, working her way into the starting 13 in the grand final victory over the Roosters.

She backed it up with a pair of State of Origin wins and a grand final appearance in the BHP Premiership.

With the competition set to expand to six teams, Brisbane has wasted no time in assembling a quality roster as they look to make it four-straight titles.

Ali Brigginshaw, Millie Boyle, Tamika Upton and Chelsea Lenarduzzi are among a number of big names set to suit up for the Broncos in 2021.

The make-up of the NRLW season could be set to change however, with the effects of the Sydney lockdown having an impact.

Four of the NRLW teams are based in NSW, namely St George Illawarra, Parramatta, Newcastle and Sydney.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said there is nothing set in stone in regards to the start of the competition.

“We’re reviewing our plans for the NRLW,” Abdo said.

“We’re going to have to amend our plans We’re going to have to adapt and think about pre-season, think about tournament length and think about how we create an environment that’s safe for our female players and officials involved in NRLW.”
