This is the ugly moment caught on video of Johnathan Thurston and Spencer Leniu having their Suncorp Stadium verbal stoush on Friday night.
Two officials stood alongside the pair as they exchanged angry words.
One female official put her arm around Leniu to try to calm him down.
Young Roosters second-rower Siua Wong can be seen stepping in to pull Leniu away.
Thurston then walks away in obvious disgust.
Leniu took to social media on Saturday morning to explain his actions, claiming Thurston tried to confront him after the full-time siren.
“I never wanted to talk to the JT,” Leniu wrote.
“He kept trying to come speak to me!
“I said, ‘Lad idc (I don’t care) if you hate me for what I did. But don’t come up to me asking questions like we’re Algood (sic).
“Don’t be two face (sic).
“Hate me lad I’m ‘eetswa’ (sweet) with that.
“But don’t be fake.
“I hate fake people.”
LENIU RELATIVE POURS FUEL ON MAM FIRE
- David Riccio
The relative of Spencer Leniu has joined the drama involving Johnathan Thurston by taking to social media to mock suspended Bronco Ezra Mam.
Paris Leniu is no stranger to defending the Roosters forward, using his social media account in the wake of the racism scandal in Las Vegas last year to support Leniu.
On Friday night, Paris used his Instagram account to post a story that sees Mam conducting an interview of which his voice has been dubbed and words have been changed.
“They don’t call me wham bam Ford Ranger slam mam for nothing,’’ the voice-over of Mam says.
“Once I get that white line fever I feel like a car in overdrive ready to slam through the defence.’’
The post from Paris was accompanied by the “shoosh” emoji.
