Wests Tigers star Kezie Apps is sweating on medical advice that could end her season after suffering a PCL injury over the weekend.

The NSW and Australia captain was among a spate of knee injures over the weekend as she was taken from the field early in the second half of an NRLW loss to the Roosters on Saturday.

Her right knee hit the turf and she struggled to recover, sparking fears she could be sidelined for a lengthy period.

And with six weeks left to go in the NRLW season, any long term lay off will rule her out until the end of season Tests for the Jillaroos.

Scans on Sunday show damage to her PCL, but the club is seeking further opinion on the expected recovery time, desperate to get their star leader on the field for the back end of the year.

There’s also fears rookie winger Harmony Crichton has suffered a serious knee injury that could sideline her for the season in another blow to the winless side.

It follows a harrowing trend of leg injuries across the NRLW from the first three rounds.

Sharks star Jada Taylor (ACL) and teammate Grace-Lee Weekes (ankle), Eels duo Boss Kapua (knee) and Rueben Cherrington (ankle) are all sidelined for the season after going down in recent weeks.

Knights star Caitlan Johnston-Green is the latest.

On Sunday it was revealed she will miss the rest of the season with an MCL injury she suffered in contact at training, although the club is reluctant to put a time frame on her recovery.

The two-time premiers remain hopeful she can play finals if they make the top four, however, the 23-year-old has signed with Cronulla from next season and has likely played her last game for the Knights.

On Monday Sydney Roosters hosed down fears star centre Jess Sergis is carrying a knee injury too after she was spotted in a leg brace on social media.

The club insists it is a precautionary move to keep her right leg as immobile as possible as she deals with a knee issue, but she is in no doubt to face the Dragons this week.

Meanwhile, Dragons prop Jamilee Bright has been released from hospital after a scary head knock in Sunday night’s win over the Knights.

Bright’s head was caught in an awkward position as she went in to make a tackle and she was taken in an ambulance as a precaution, but has since been released.

She is resting at home and will have further scans this week.
