SPEEDWAY : Racing fans will witness the emergence of a new Sprintcar team when Erhart Motorsport makes its Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway debut tonight.

Team owner and manager Laurie Erhart last week unveiled his new operation after being an integral part of his family’s successful GW Racing team for many years.

The team also introduced a new driver to its ranks after the retirement of Peter Lack with the Gold Coast’s Cody Maroske now behind the wheel.

Team spokesman Pete Lewis said Erhart and Maroske are now looking forward to hitting the track after an off-season build.

“Laurie is very enthusiastic about this big step up for him and Cody is equally as excited to be given this opportunity,” Lewis said.

“The car showed good pace last week in Brisbane and we are already to go tomorrow night.”

Tonight’s racing also includes round six of the Campbell’s Bobcat Mod Lite Series where Toowoomba’s Nathan Politch is looking to continue his good season start.

“I’m currently leading the series and Rodney Pammenter in our second car is sitting in second place,” Politch said.

“Mitch Pammenter is driving a third car for us and he out-qualified me in Brisbane last Saturday night.”
