Medal haul for Range Runners orienteers

GOOD results continue for Ranger Runners competitors.

ORIENTEERING : Range Runners Orienteering Club members are celebrating their latest success after performing strongly at this year’s Oceania Challenge and Australian Schools Championships Carnival in Wagga Wagga.

The carnival incorporated three championships with eight races over nine days taking in the Oceania Championships, Australian Schools Championships, and one Long (Bush) event remaining from the Australian Orienteering Championships.

The club was represented by twin brothers Blake and Grant Reinbott and twin sisters Julia and Nina Gannon who all lined up for Australia in the 18 years age group against New Zealand in the Oceania event.

All four competitors returned with carnival medals.

Grant was twice placed first while also collecting a third and sixth placing at the Oceania Championships.

He also finished with a first, third and fourth placing at the Australian Schools Championships along with a victory in the Long (Bush) event.

Blake placed first and fifth in the Oceania Championships, third twice and fifth at the Australian Schools Championships, and second in the Long (Bush) event.

Nina Gannon’s results included a gold medal win in the Oceania Sprint and bronze in the Oceania middle distance women.

Julia also shone in the Oceania long distance event with a silver medal result.
