Gold Coast Tonga’s exciting under-10 outfit have all-but sewn up their finals fate with a dominant showing on the second day of the Pacific Youth Rugby Festival.

The red army were out in force on Saturday, keeping rivals Queensland Barbarians scoreless in a 32-point rout.

It headlined a huge day of action on field five with 11 matches played across Saturday.

Six players got across the stripe to score for the Tongans with Lennox Fifita, Auhia Lolohea and Elijah Barber-Murray all continuing their strong start to the festival.

The Tongan side sits undefeated on top of Pool B and has set up a likely showdown with Queensland Kiwis in the grand final.

A hat trick to flashy fullback Lorima Seuseu has ensured the Oatley Giants finished on top of the Under-14 boys division after a dominant win over Queensland Fiji on Saturday.

The Giants ran in right-unanswered tries in the 46-0 win which has helped them finish the pool stages undefeated ahead of Sunday’s finals.

Gold Coast Tonga bounced back in a big way in the Under-12s with a 36-7 win over AU Superstars, while a lone try to Queensland Fiji centre Hugh Stanbury was the only thing that seperated The Fijians from Queensland Royals in a gripping Under-14 boys contest.

In other Field 5 action Queensland Kiwis Under-16 boys fell to Queensland Barbarians 12-5, while the Queensland Kiwi under-16 girls managed to overcome rivals Nations United NQ 15-5.

The race to finals is well and truly alive as the action at the Pacific Youth Rugby Festival heats up on Saturday.

The Pacific Youth Rugby Festival will play host to tournament newcomers Queensland Indigenous and Pasifika, Nations United North Queensland and Territorian raiders All Nations Rugby NT.

Meanwhile tournament regulars Queensland Kiwi, AU Superstars and Gold Coast Tonga have expanded their efforts across most ages and divisions.

KommunityTV will exclusively live stream every match across all five fields on each day of the tournament from October 18-20.
