2025 Peter Mulholland Cup live stream: Endeavour Sports v Farrer MAHS, Round 1

Endeavour started its 2025 Peter Mulholland Cup campaign off in dominating fashion on Tuesday, largely thanks to young star Thomas Dellow. Watch the REPLAY here.

It was a long eight months for Endeavour sports to dwell on their crushing 34-16 loss in the final of the Peter Mulholland Cup, and sadly for Farrer MAHS they seem like they took it personally.

Led by 2024 Australian Schoolboy representative and Cronulla Sharks junior rep lock forward Thomas Dellow, Endeavour ran his team straight through the middle of Farrer Mahs, dominating the Tamworth locals 40-4.

Whether it was final words from coach Dave Howlett or an intimidation technique, Endeavour kept Farrer Mahs waiting on the field for close to 5 minutes before the game was set to kick off, and it may just have been that little bit of extra prep which blew the Tamworth school off the park from the first whistle.

Dellow, who finished 2024 on top of the schoolboy competition, started his year in similar fashion, running riot over his opposition pack.

Exchanging sets to start the game, Farrer, while looking game, was beaten physically and unable to stop the much bigger Shire based forward pack.

Dellow, along with front rowers Hudsyn Frost and Jake White rolled up the field with ease, and kept Farrer trapped down their end of the park.

Halfback Liam Challenor was first to capitalise on the good field position, taking on the line before providing a perfect long ball for his winger Jaylan Herron to open up scoring.

Endeavours gritty, slow, methodical pace continued to cause Farrer problems, with Dellow barging straight through their tired defence to score under the post.

Big carries from the back field saw fullback Jyarah Delaney placed in a prime position to replicate Dellow’s previous try. This time with some slick footwork.

The bench continued to bring success for Endeavour. Hemi Blackburn-Kingi capped off a flawless half for his team, finding himself on an edge and busting through multiple defenders to bring the score to 22-0 at half time.

Farrer looked to change the narrative to start the second half, scoring through five-eighth Leif Dietrich after back to back to back sets.

Endeavour were going to be hard to stop once they got the ball, and eight minutes into the second half they proved why.

Second-Rower Blake Watman ran a line similar to what we have been used to by Bulldogs edge player Viliame Kikau, dropping back under and tearing through a weaker Farrer middle.

Returning to the form that got them such a big lead in the first half, Endeavour’s middles returned to target their opposition, creating space for Jaylan Herron to get his second, followed by Viliame Koroitamana making way under the post.

PREVIEW

Endeavour Sports High will be looking to bounce back quickly from last year’s Peter Mulholland Cup final defeat when it takes on Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School on Tuesday.

The NSW schoolboys season opener will be live streamed exclusively on KommunityTV from 12.30pm.

Bittersweet would be the best way to describe the 2024 season for the side from Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

Despite matching it with the state’s best schools and playing some excellent football en route to the Peter Mulholland Cup decider, Endeavour ultimately fell at the final hurdle, going down to Patrician Brothers Blacktown 34-16 in the final.

And while seven from last year’s squad are returning for another crack at the NRL National Schoolboy Cup, the team isn’t fixated on a shot at grand redemption ahead of its round one clash with Tamworth’s Farrer.

“We haven’t talked about winning trophies or anything like that,” said coach Dave Howlett.

“Everything is just about getting better every training session. We know we’re not going to be ready to win the national Schoolboy Cup tomorrow and while we’re hopeful that the team will be there when the finals come around, we haven’t talked about anything other than our first game and being as good as we can be there.”

Led by 2024 Australian Schoolboy representative and Cronulla Sharks junior rep lock forward Thomas Dellow, Endeavour will have the advantage of consistency and experience when it takes to the field at Woy Woy Oval, with seven of the 17-man squad having already experienced senior schoolboy football in previous years.

“We’ve had a lot of stability in our coaching staff for a number of years now,” said Howlett. “There’s a system in place and the boys come through. It’s all cyclical, all the boys wait their turn and once they get to the senior years they get their chance at it.

“This year the difference is that we’ve got more year 12s in the team than we’ve had. We’ve had young teams over the past couple of years and some of the boys are in their third year of playing senior footy,” he added.

“They’ve all been training really well and working really hard but with the Schoolboy Cup you don’t know how strong the other teams are going to be so we’re hopeful we’ll play well (against Farrer).”

Endeavour’s clash with Farrer will be one of three matches live streamed from Woy Woy Oval on Tuesday, before a further four are broadcast from Ringrose Park on Wednesday.

KommunityTV will be the only place to watch all the Peter Mulholland Cup action live.
