It did nothing to cement either side’s finals hopes, but the 14-14 draw between Marsden and Wavell will go down as one of the greatest Langer Trophy clashes in recent memory.
The two sides traded the lead on four different occasions, with a piece of Timahna Tandy brilliance two minutes from fulltime locking the scores up.
Both teams had a chance to steal the victory with Marsden failing to get off a field goal attempt, before Wavell almost went the length of the field after the siren sounded.

It was a day for the competition’s best talents.
Marsden’s Hayden Watson, fresh off spearheading Queensland’s national title win, proved why he is one of the hottest schoolboys prospects in the nation in a single play.
With his team trailing by two points, Watson got the ball at first receiver, threw the dummy and accelerated into a hole between the retreating markers.
He made half a break and found flying fullback Adaquix Watts-Luke with a late offload.
Not finished, Watson got off the deck quick and reloaded for the next play, showing his heads up ability to thread a pin-point grubber through a scrambling Wavell defence to set up winger Mairangiatea Walker.
Watson’s moment of brilliance was echoed by his star fullback.
The son of former Rabbitoh and Broncos rake Isaac Luke, Adaquix had a match to remember for Marsden, setting up the first try with a cut-out to Antonio Okusitino, before taking the match by the scruff of the neck with a piece of individual brilliance in the second half.
Wavell had their own stars pulling the strings.
While quiet in the first half, Tandy lit up the late stages of the match, while young halfback Charlie Webb showed the full width and breadth of his talent and even set-up older brother Ruben in the corner in a special moment for the side.
But the moment of the match for Wavell belonged to electric five-eighth Payton Gifford.
Gifford continued his brilliant return from a torn ACL, stepping his way through Marsden defenders on his way to the tryline.
Wavell will move further into the top five, while Marsden will remain on the outside of finals contention.
But neither team lost any fans after this one.

EARLIER
Marsden SHS will confront the last chance saloon on Wednesday when they face Langer Trophy premiership contenders Wavell SHS.
Put simply, Marsden have to win to stay in finals contention after claiming just one victory over the first month of footy.
With only the top five progressing into the finals following a competition revamp, Marsden cannot afford to lose even one of their remaining three games.
The Langer Trophy clash between Marsden and Wavell will be available live and free on KommunityTV from 4.30pm.
Viewers can also access the Walters Cup clash between Marsden and Wavell, as well as the Schoolgirls Cup clash between Marsden and St James College on this link with a subscription.
The cavalry is on the way, with two of their state schoolboy players, forwards Mace Andrew and Tupou Francis, ruled fit to play.
And Marsden will need all hands on deck against a Wavell side which looms as a top three finisher this season.
Wavell look to be dark horses for the title, having narrowly lost to competition pacesetters Keebra Park by just four points during round three.
Wavell has all bases covered, including around the spine where fullback Timahna Tandy and halves Charlie Webb and Payton Gifford were benefiting from a mobile pack motivated on both sides of the ball.
Wavell also has running strike power through the backs.
